"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event––like a new Pearl Harbor"
Project for a New American Century - "Rebuilding America's Defenses", September 2000.
The world watches as the chess pieces for a possible war with Iran are maneuvered, placed and reported. The mainstream media informs the public of some of the moves and the officially sanctioned reasons but fails to inform them of the real reasons and the potentially catastrophic consequences. Polls indicate a country tiring of war but surprising numbers still support military action depending how the situation is described.
Many who are watching fear the world is a provocation away from a very serious military conflict that could inflame the Middle East and bring Russia and China into the mix. Both Russia and China have warned the U.S. against a military action. The Chinese President has ordered the Chinese Navy to prepare for combat and Russia has sent warships to it's port in Syria. It appears the U.S./U.K./Israel warmonger contingent may be trying to instigate such a provocation.
The U.S. Navy has sent two Aircraft Carrier Strike Groups (U.S.S. Carl Vincent and U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln) to the Arabian sea and is patrolling the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.

The Army announced that 15,000 U.S. troops have been sent to Kuwait as a “response force”.
“This is a larger contingent than we’ve typically had,” a senior Army official, who spoke on background, told Army Times."

"U.S. European Command (EUCOM) has deployed to Israel a high-powered X-band radar and the supporting people and equipment needed for coordinated defense against Iranian missile attack, marking the first permanent U.S. military presence on Israeli soil."

This is from the Stars and Stripes, the newspaper for the troops. I remember it well during my time.
"U.S. Moves to Strengthen Forces in Persian Gulf"
"The Pentagon has quietly shifted combat troops and warships to the Middle East after the top American commander in the region warned that he needed additional forces to deal with Iran and other potential threats, U.S. officials said.
Marine Corps Gen. James Mattis, who heads U.S. Central Command, won White House approval for the deployments late last year after talks with the government in Baghdad broke down over keeping U.S. troops in Iraq, but the extent of the Pentagon moves is only now becoming clear.
Officials said the deployments are not meant to suggest a buildup to war, but rather are intended as a quick-reaction and contingency force in case a military crisis erupts in the stand-off with Tehran over its suspected nuclear weapons program."

Last week we learned an Iranian nuclear scientist was murdered by a magnetic bomb attached to his automobile. We also learned that the Iranians are harassing the U.S. Navy vessels patrolling the Strait of Hormuz.

Round and round it goes, where it stops nobody knows. Except now the word on the street (internet) is that a war is not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when, how and who starts it.
The Jerusalum Post bills itself as “the world's top English-language daily newspaper covering Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish World.” It carried an interesting article on January 9th by Avi Perry, a former Israeli Intelligence Officer.
The article started off somewhat reassuring in stating that neither the U.S. or Israel would start a war with Iran in 2012.
“Watching the Sunday talk shows on American TV, the experts were all of the opinion that neither the US nor Israel will embark on attacking the Iranian nuclear facilities in 2012. I tend to agree. Neither the US nor Israel will initiate an attack on Iran. Still, I believe that these experts were off by a million miles.”
Mr. Perry, the former Israeli Intelligence Officer, thinks those experts are wrong because they don’t realize that Iran is like Nazi Germany.
“Iran, just like Nazi Germany in the 1940s, will take the initiative and “help” the US president and the American public make up their mind by making the first move, by attacking a US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.
The Iranian attack on an American military vessel will serve as a justification and a pretext for a retaliatory move by the US military against the Iranian regime. The target would not be Iran’s nuclear facilities. The US would retaliate by attacking Iran’s navy, their military installations, missile silos, airfields. The US would target Iran’s ability to retaliate, to close down the Strait of Hormuz. The US would then follow by targeting the regime itself.”
What Mr. Perry is alluding to is another “Pearl Harbor”. We’ve heard that before in 2000 when the Neocon Project for a New American Century, home of most of the Neocons hired under G.W. Bush to carry out the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and proceed to the other five of the seven countries General Wesley Clark told us they were going to take down, published it's infamous report, "Rebuilding America's Defenses".
“Elimination of Iran’s nuclear facilities? Yes. This part would turn out to be the final act, the grand finale. It might have been the major target, had the US initiated the attack. However, under this “Pearl Harbor” scenario, in which Iran had launched a “surprise” attack on the US navy, the US would have the perfect rationalization to finish them off, to put an end to this ugly game.“
“2012 will see to a new war. This time, Iran will initiate it. This time the US will respond. This time the Iranian regime will bring about its own demise. This time the Persian Spring will bear fruits.”
The citizens of the world are watching and waiting, almost helpless. We're being lied to again, information is being withheld and the true reasons for this agressive posturing are hidden from the public by a the same wall of propaganda used for every war. We've been hearing the drumbeat for this war for years, even decades. The drumbeat has gotten very loud now and the possible consequences to the entire planet are the most significant since World War II. We can't afford another Pearl Harbor or another Gulf of Tonkin. Hundreds of thousands in the U.S. and Europe and worldwide protested a possible Iraq war before it started. A possible war with Iran could make the Iraq war look like child's play. Where are the people?
