Faith is a tricky subject with me. See I would like to think I am a deep thinker but in all reality I am a flit. I flit from thing to thing, learning a bit of this and that and not an expert of anything. Blame my ADHD, or blame my Gemini nature, or what. My personal view, my beliefs would damn me to hell by some.....
I have faith in God, just not organized religion these days. My simple brain has shoe horned faith with science. Science to me explains how God did it. The image of God with a chemistry set at the big bang flits through my mind. Laugh at the child like view if you must but I will give you more to laugh at. I personally believe that we all worship the same god, just under different names. That all the fighting is sibling rivalry trying to get the most attention from a seemingly absent parent. I can see the scientist rolling on the floor right now. Laughter filling the room that they are in. I can also see others shaking their heads in pity as they think I am going to burn in hell.
With faith that I grew up with free will was given so we can welcome or reject. I mean really what joy could it bring to have to force anyone to accept you? This is why I abhor people who push their flavor on others. Oh but you need to testify says right here in this handy dandy how to manual that was edited back in the middle ages by man, written down by man, and has many contradictions to it that at times makes my head spin. I counter with testifying is not shoving your belief down someone's throat but how you live. Giving a quiet example on how to treat your fellow man. Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Compassion, kindness, a helping hand, non judgmental (ok that one I CAN NOT get done).
So this rant is set off by Misery trying to put forth a bill that would have intelligent design taught not only in the primary levels of school but in its higher levels as well. Let me put it this way, if I take a class on evolution I chose to take that class and do not need the opposing view point put into the same class.
In life I feel I must take things on faith. I have the faith that this will fail. I have to.
