This is going to be a pretty short Diary. A little story and then a few photos. The one below the fold is, if I do say so myself, maybe the coolest thing you'll see this week. And all the "hip" people doing photos now might need to realize folks were doing similar stuff a long, long time ago.
I come from a family of photograqphers. We take a ton of photos and have for generations. Heck my parents don't have room for them all so I have like 50,000 35MM slides my dad took in a closet downstairs. They only have one genre, Civil War battle fields (my father's PhD is in Civil War history).
For the better part of a decade plus I've been hounding my father to scan in all the photos he has, dating back to the turn of the century. The disks have started to arrive and I am blown away. Staggering.
Here is my dad Halloween 1952:
Me as a baby (I didn't know there were all these pics of me -- I have thousands):
But below the fold, my dad and his father having some photo fun.
Maybe you have seen the photos of people where they might position themselves so when the pic is taken it looks like the Washington Momount is their penis. I am sure there is a name for pics like this, I just don't know what it is. But I got one to show, this isn't a new idea.
I asked about the background of this pic when I opened it in Photoshop. My dad said he was getting ready to hop on a train to go to a Boy Scont Jamboree. Dad and my grandfather were early and had some time to burn, so they ended up taking some pictures. They staged this, my grandfather in the back, asking somebody to take it for them.
Oh one last photo of me:
I am trying hard to figure out what I am doing here. I have like 15 photos of this scene. It appears I am (1) trying to stand on my head or (2) do push-ups.
I can't wait to go through the rest of these pics.
