On this Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Remembrance, I can't help but remember a dear friend who passed away last Friday at 9:06 PM at her home in Asheville.
She was Judith Hallock, a nurse-practioner who gave so much of who she was to the community in Jackson and Buncombe Counties.
She helped start a clinic in Jackson County for the needy. Because of her concern about war and nuclear weapons, she was arrested for civil disobedience against the bomb plant in Oak Ridge, TN.
Last year she was doing line dancing at our local MLK Day celebration. Today she is dancing with the real stars in the cosmos. Thank you, Judith, our Friend!
We love you, Judith Hallock!
Our prayers, thoughts and well wishes are with you as you continue your journey into a land of peace and pure energy.
We already miss you so much, yet are excited with you as you embark on a new journey!
You have more than touched our lives. You have help mold them and make them better. You have been a model for us as we strive to be peace, not to just make it. Your life has shown that we are all valuable, that we can do so much in quiet simple and passionate ways.
We cannot ever forget you as we march, as we pray, and as we hope for a day of peace, justice and deep love for all people.
Your body now has left us, but you leave much more than a material body behind. You leave all that is fine and pure and positive!
Judith, you have been a joy in each of our lives.
Thank you!
