So I was driving home from work yesterday evening, listening to News Radio 880 (out of NYC), and I heard an anti- Mitt Romney ad. The gist of the ad went after his experience as a venture capitalist who prayed on companies in crisis, raided their pention funds, got rich off the backs of American workers, etc, etc. Then it ended with a plea to stop Mitt Romney from becoming the nominee before "the left" makes mince meat out of his record in the general election.
This was definitely a paid ad. It was not part of a larger segment being reported on, and came after other non-political ads.
What perplexes me is the following. New York doesn't vote until April 26 - over two months from now. And the NYC media market is one of the most expensive in the country. Why, with so much at stake in the earlier states' primaries, would a PAC throw its money into a market like New York which votes so much later?
Any idea what's going on here? Any other New Yorkers out there hear this ad?
