Remember the news over Aasif Mandvi from the Daily Show confronting Florida Governor Rick Scott (R) over his plan to drug test welfare recipients? Well, it finally aired last night!
(in response to a Navy veteran who refuses to take the drug test)
FLORIDA STATE REP. SCOTT PLAKON (R): Any citizen, whether a veteran or not, should be happy to take the drug test. As a veteran, I would think that he would be concerned about the freedom of the taxpayers, the taxpayers that are working day and night, sometimes two and three jobs, and he won't even do this very simple thing to help his family. I just don't get that.
AASIF MANDVI: So who pays your salary?
FLORIDA STATE REP. SCOTT PLAKON (R): Ah, the taxpayers of the state of Florida.
AASIF MANDVI: I'm sorry, I think I'm going to need you to pee into this cup.
FLORIDA STATE REP. SCOTT PLAKON (R): I'm not going to submit to a drug test because Aasif has one in my office.
AASIF MANDVI: There was somebody who said anybody who's receiving hardworking Floridian taxpayers' money should submit to a drug test. And I believe that somebody was Representative Scott Plakon.
FLORIDA STATE REP. SCOTT PLAKON (R): If a law passed requiring legislators to do it, I'd be happy to.
AASIF MANDVI: So would you be willing to be the first person to put that bill forward?
FLORIDA STATE REP. SCOTT PLAKON (R): Well, this year, I have all my bill slots filled. But, you know, we get six bill slots. So if you ask what's on the high priority of my list, that's not one of them.
AASIF MANDVI: So can I say that you being drug tested is priority #7?
FLORIDA STATE REP. SCOTT PLAKON (R): No, what I'm saying is....
AASIF MANDVI: Priority #8?

Then Stephen looked at how the band Survivor is
suing Newt Gingrich for using "Eye of the Tiger" without their permission, and had a very special guest on for a rebuttal to Newt. :-)
