Listen, I hear all of these people talking about putting in religious exemptions for what their health care plan covers and doesn't. I get that they are morally opposed. But not being of those attached faiths, I want to know: why couldn't I offer a tax exempt, deduction led program that sponsors some of my "faith" which believes that promoting good, happy sex lives is better for company morale, lowers stress, and lowers sick days.
What's wrong with that?
Listen here. So, you, as an employer have decided you don't want to cover birth control. Fine. I, as an employer, want my Flex Benefit Plan to cover vibrators. In fact, I don't care if my Flex Benefits plan covers anything from whips to lingerie.
Why? Because it's what MY religion tells me is good for my fictional employees. Employees who are sexually satisfied in their life tend to be: more confident, less likely to be vent sexual frustration into the workplace, less likely to get sick, and less likely to be depressed.

Not only does a healthy sex life boost mood, but there is growing evidence to show it boosts your physical well-being, too - from increasing longevity to reducing the risk of erectile dysfunction and even heart attack.
Only last month, researchers at Nottingham University concluded that men who kept up a regular sex life in their 50s were also at lower risk of developing prostate cancer.
Oxytocin is called the 'cuddling' hormone because it's released after just 20 minutes of hugging. Women produce four times as much as men, for whom production is inhibited by the prevalence of the hormone testosterone, which drives libido.
Another key neurotransmitter is serotonin, says Professor Farid. 'Serotonin is the body's key antidepressant chemical and one of the major reasons people smile and feel happy and relaxed after sex.'
Sexually active women in longterm relationships were less likely to be depressed than women who went without sex, according to a study of nearly 300 women by American psychologist Gordon Gallup and published in the Archives Of Sexual Behaviour.
But it's not just great for immunity, longterm health, depression and more, but a healthy sex life helps people sleep better and be more confident:

BERMAN: No. They're not having enough sex. And ironically, the amazing part is that sex can actually really help you with sleep.
And what ends up happening is that you try to pack too much in. You get into bed. You're stressed. You're uptight. And then you start getting stressed about not being able to fall asleep, and that keeps you even more sleepless.
Instead, you should try having sex. It will help you sleep, because it releases endorphins and you feel better about yourself. Or try to relax; give each other a massage. Or you can do two for one. In fact, I was just seeing that KY came out with a two in one massage/touch product where it doubles as a massage lotion or massage product, as well as a lubricant. So you can get two for one.
Employees who sleep better and are less stressed get sick less often, miss less work, and will have better results then stressed, sleep deprived workers.
SO, let's say my religion says that I want my Flex Benefits or my Healthcare plan to cover their costs of KY. A vibrator. Sex classes. I don't want to know about it, that's the employee's private life, but I want to offer it as a benefit, because it's what I believe. And SCIENCE backs me up on it. Where's the exemption for people who want their employees to be HAPPY for IPU sake?!?!
Just musing out loud.
