That's right: Daily Kos is the Most Powerful Website in the World.
Capable of blowing your head clean off, or at least threatening to 'subvert democracy', thereby making it at least as powerful as the GOP/Teabagger/Kochsucker Trifecta.
We all know that the GOP/Teabagger/Kochsucker Trifecta (GTKT) is really and truly 'subverting democracy, with the help of that terrible "Citizen's United" scam that allows Republicans to take as much anonymous money as is possible without having to....you know..tell people where it came from (it comes from the 1% and a bunch of dumbfucks who identify with the GTKT).
The Infinitely Powerful Grand Wazoo of Daily Kos, Markos Moulitas, recently gave birth to a diabolical plan to totally subvert democracy, even more worser than the GTKT.
it's time for those of us who live in open primary and caucus states—Michigan, North Dakota, Vermont and Tennessee in the next three weeks—to head out and cast a vote for Rick Santorum.
Some, perhaps many, of the Moulitas Disciples - 'kossaks, they are called - seem to be freaking completely out at the prospect of actually doing some sort of damage to their enemy.
Some seem to be concerned that this or that might be "wrong" or it might lack "decorum", despite the fact that the enemy Republicans are absolutely every last bit of that: wrong, foul, lacking decorum - I mean, really: what the fuck is this crap if not utterly tasteless, wrong and utterly devoid of any shred of decorum?
And lest I seem insensitive or not having paid attention to the writings of those best and brightest, many of the folks who are coming undone over this 'plan' are of the LGBT crowd who are rightfully concerned about the potential impact of a "Santorum Presidency".
To that extent I can and do feel I totally understand their concern: Santorum is a MAJOR LEAGUE hater and member of the American Taliban. These folks fear the significant uptick in anti-gay violence that would ensue in the (grossly unlikely) event of a Santorum victory.
Again, this is a very legitimate and serious thing. I totally and completely agree with their assessment: it would be terrible. Like Glenn Beck getting elected. I do 'get it'.
However, I diverge in that I have no concern that Santorum's going anywhere but home in November. He's a freak and most Americans will know this by November, should he get "The Nod" (which ain't happening). Romney's going to be the One to lose to Obama.
We are at war
I can obscure the rest of this post with links to the unmitigated bullshit the enemy has already done to us and to America, crap they have proposed or will propose or otherwise try to get away with, but that detracts from the central point.
Even though this is the most powerful website in the world, capable of blowing your head clean off, it would appear that, according to some, getting the upper hand for even a nanosecond in some way lacking decorum as determined by the faithful followers of The Grand Wazoo, is just not acceptable. Far better to lose than give the enemy Republicans a small taste of their own ways.
I personally, am a bit different than many of these better and brighter sorts currently going apo-fucking-plectic over this modest plan to maybe... MAYBE try and win in November by playing a divided enemy against itself.
I'm a bit different because I don't think - or believe - Obama is in the trouble these best and brightest here at TMPWITW believe.
I see the enemy Republicans as, for whatever reason, having not fielded one remotely serious candidate. Not one.
And I think that as long as laws aren't being actually broken (we don't want to break the law) there's little harm to be done.
It's war.
I think Markos has been reading Sun Tzu:
“If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.”
― Sun Tzu
I believe it was Sun Tzu who said something to the effect of "if your enemy is going to self-destruct, why stand in their way?". It would be prudent, if we see our enemy drowning, to shove a garden hose in their mouth.
Helping them fail would be good, just for style points, if not a good exercise for Democrats in general, who usually resemble little fainting goats more often than they resemble Powerful Members of the United States Federal Government.
Sun Tzu also said "All warfare is based on deception" and we are at war, declared on us (you and me) by the enemy enemy....errr.. Republicans. If we can decieve them, give them false info, WHY NOT?
If you do not believe we are at war then I do not believe you have really been paying attention to things. (You haven't heard of Wisconsin?)
If you HAVE been paying attention and you STILL do not believe we are at war then stop reading this and go send the GOP some flowers. They are our friends and neighbors and we should have a big fuzzy group hug. I feel all melty at the mere thought of it.
Gah.
If you really have been paying attention AND you KNOW we are at war, fighting for the near-future of this country (like me, YOU have to live here the rest of your life), then I have to assume many of those currently gnashing their teeth over the Grand Plan to mess with the GOP primary who DON'T want to do anything "that lacks decorum" as never - really - having been in a fight or having been picked on, ever.
I have been in a fight or 2, and I even studied it so I could do it better because fighting at times is just unavoidable. (I'm not Gandhi.....or Jesus). It's pretty simple: if you are being attacked, you can fight back - by any means necessary and available. You don't have to build a philosophy celebrating victimization.
And if there's one thing Daily Kos is about, it's about fighting fire with fire.
I believe the Grand Wazoo's Diabolical Plan is predicated on the notion that Santorum is not going to even win the GOP primary. Santorum is not going to win anything.
The Grand Wazoo of the Most Powerful Website in the World is much, much smarter about this political stuff than I would ever care to be and - horror of horrors....I trust him on this.
So yeah.... I feel lucky.
