No examples exist that I recall. But arrogant pouting I've got under the fold.
Remember this press release? Great was the mockery thereof.
The literati sent out their minions to do their bidding. Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world. The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness. They fired timidly at first, then the sheep not wanting to be dropped from the establishment's cocktail party invite list unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods. Now they are left exposed by their bylines and handles. But surely they had killed him off. This is the way it always worked. A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won't be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces.
Well, Newt has possibly topped that for pure arrogance.
The thing I find most disheartening about this campaign is the difficulty of talking about positive ideas on a large scale because the news media can’t cover it and candidly, my opponents can’t comprehend it

Newt is just so much smarter than Mitt Romney (MBA, Harvard), Rick Santorum (MBA, Pittsburg, JD, Dickerson), and Ron Paul (MD, Duke) that they can't even comprehend his large scale positive ideas.
Gingrich, who brought up Alzheimer’s research for the first time in weeks, admitted he wants to be “the candidate of science and technology.”
“We are at the edge of such extraordinary opportunities and it is so hard to get this party to understand it,” said Gingrich, speaking in a more frustrated tone than usual. “Our political system is so methodically and deliberately stupid.”
Newt is losing so the game must be stupid. The political system is not deliberately stupid, Newt. Republican voters, perhaps. Maybe you should talk to Rush Limbaugh and Roger Ailes about that.
Newton Leroy Gingrich, you are at least 60 years past the age where it is acceptable for you to pout in public. And just declaring that no one else in the campaign is smart enough to understand what you're talking about is just ridiculous - smart people are capable of explaining complex ideas in simple terms. If you can't do that, you aren't really very smart.
Having spent some time at the Great Orange Satan, I will guess that we have at least 200 regular bloggers all of whom could understand anything you are capable of understanding, think about it, and put it into words that even Rick Santorum could understand. So let's just face it:
Newt Gingrich is a stupid person's idea of what a smart person sounds like. Among the stupid people who think Newt Gingrich is smart is Newt Gingrich.
