I was just watching the Melissa Harris-Perry show on MSNBC, and they were talking about the war against women.
Here we are, engaged in this fight to get birth control for women, and watching our rights slip away... and then came a commercial that just about made me lose it.
It's for a product called "AndroGel". Testosterone for men.
It's a topical cream. Easily available, nobody is trying to stop men from getting it, but read this warning:
Stop using AndroGel 1.62% and call your healthcare provider right away if you see any signs and symptoms of puberty in a child, or changes in body hair or increased acne in a woman, that may have occurred through accidental exposure to AndroGel 1.62%.
Are you fucking kidding me??
We can't get birth control for women, but men can get stuff that might damage a woman or child? Simple contact with a man who is using this product can cause serious damage, but hey - that's okay, right?
Because it's no big fucking deal if a woman or child is hurt, as long as a man can have HIS meds!!
Christ on a cracker. I don't even know how to respond to this.
I'm going to go for a long walk, I think. And just be pissed for a while.
Not much of a diary, I know, but the double standard and utter stupidity of this whole thing is just making me furious.
