Earlier this morning, Mitt Romney's top communications adviser compared Romney to an Etch-A-Sketch, saying Romney could erase his right-wing positions once the general election begins. Twitter hilarity ensued:
@ericferhn says on CNN that Romney will erase his hard right positions in general election like an etch-a-sketch. Yeah, don't think so.

I'm trying to think of a worse simile for Romney campaign to use than an Etch A Sketch. ..... Nope, there isn't one.

Remember when Romney would win a primary and he or his campaign would say something stupid the next day? #goodtimes

Romney's guy just said on CNN he will erase his hard-right positions in the general election "Like An Etch-A-Sketch". #IDONTTHINKSO

Guys, there's no need to fear Mitt will Etch-a-Sketch-erase his righty stances in the general. We just need to keep him very, very still.

Is Romney going to shake the Etch A Sketch and go back to advocating for a nation that takes a mandate approach? #healthcareworks
