On Tuesday, April 3, there's going to be a lunchtime (11:45-12:35) presentation of "differing perspectives" on Voter ID sponsored by the Federalist Society. It's going to be in the law school student lounge, lunch provided.
IT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC !
The presenters will be Ed Martin, candidate for State AG of Missouri, and UMKC law prof Douglas Linder.
Martin is very anti-Obamacare former Congressional candidate and Grover Nordquist pledge signer. He styles his AG opponent Chris Koster as "Obama's lawyer" on his website.
UMKC law students who are also Kossacks, I think you might want to attend this event.
Follow me over the Orange Squiggle to discuss why.
As you probably know, a judge struck down a proposed state constitutional amendment which was to have been on the ballot.
Cole County Circuit Judge Pat Joyce ruled that the summary that would have appeared on the ballot was “insufficient and unfair” and pointed to two reasons for her ruling.
First, the ballot summary includes the phrase “Voter Protection Act,” even though the phrase never actually appears in the constitutional amendment.
Second, the summary stated that the amendment would allow the General Assembly to establish an early voting period, when in fact the amendment would “restrict the time period during which advance voting may occur,” Joyce said.

KC Star for more.
Sure as I'm sitting here, this isn't the last round on this issue for Missouri. I strongly suggest you get ready for the next one.
See what your AG candidate has to say, and let him know what you think.
This will be the last time (probably) I tell anybody to attend a Federalist Society event, btw...
