Catholic priest urges fasting, praying and voting
against Obama and Democrats
I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute, where no Catholic prelate would tell the president (should he be Catholic) how to act, and no Protestant minister would tell his parishioners for whom to vote [Emphasis supplied] -- JFK
To the right is the Sunday mass leaflet distributed at a Catholic parish this past Sunday. It is signed by the parish priest and urges prayer and fasting until the November elections, at which time the instruction seems clear—vote against President Obama and the Democrats.

The nation’s Roman Catholic bishops will make an important decision this week: Do they want to defend the church’s legitimate interest in religious autonomy, or do they want to wage an election-year war against President Obama? And do the most conservative bishops want to junk the Roman Catholic Church as we have known it, with its deep commitment to both life and social justice, and turn it into the tea party at prayer?
I believe we have our answer.
