This is snark. Repeat, this is snark! Snark alert!!
I know you can't see my facial expression as I type.
Anyway, a compromise on the Health Care Act in the spirit of Jonathan Swift.
Completely voluntary health care insurance. But-- (see below)
If you don't buy insurance you can't get medical care. If you opt not to have coverage, we can opt not to treat you. So if you are certain you won't get sick or injured, need vaccination, get pregnant, or otherwise use the services of US health care, you won't buy health insurance.
Also, don't wear a motorcycle helmet while riding, don't wear a seatbelt in a car, don't use a safety device while working up high, you don't get treatment for injuries thus incurred.
This will save wear and tear on the psyches of medical care givers who now struggle to treat the severely injured or sick who for whatever reason didn't take precautions or take proper care of themselves early by regular medical care.
Repeat: SNARK SNARK SNARK!! Maybe.
