Hey there! Just finally getting off my backside after spending three weeks sitting in a car looking at wonderful game animals. Need to get a diary up on that to share some fun. I have uploaded some videos to my facebook.
Internet access was very limited and so upon my return was greeted with the sad news about Julie passing on. I was sad yesterday when I looked at the list of regular Sat. diaries and it was not there. I love birds and flowers and animals, so Saturday lurking at the Daily Kos was fun, now a little less fun. sigh. :(
But my first duty as you ambassador is to keep you updated on ShelterBox.
I had to pass up going to an event for ShelterBox Ambassadors in my neck of the woods. They went to a ranch in Texas Hill Country and put up tents and lived in them and got updated on the stuff inside the box.
The first news is that now ShelterBox is a 4 star charity!!!

ShelterBox in the Congo
Families in the Republic of the Congo's capital Brazzaville are still facing very difficult living conditions after the explosion at the Mpila army base on March 8.

UK-based Dave Ray is team leader of the ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) operating in the city and he says there are hundreds of families that need help in the areas closest to the site of the explosion:
“With the help and local knowledge of the Brazzaville Rotary clubs, we are working street by street to assess all the houses in the quarters closest to the blast.”
“In areas like Talangai and parts of Ouenze, there is almost nothing left standing yet we are seeing families with children living amongst the ruins.”
Please click on the links for the full articles and pictures. Part of my aim is to drive people to the website for the full story. Please rec and tip and tweet and facebook. Help me get the word out on ShelterBox BEFORE a big news maker diaster hits. ShelterBox needs to be PREDEPLOYED before a disaster hit to be the most effective.
Thank you for being so good to me! You have really made my life something special with your support of Shelterbox.
