Not many people have been paying attention to North Dakota for reason other than the oil fields, but ND had two important ballot measures that some in the nation have been following.
Measure 2 would have abolished property taxes state wide. It was brought to vote by out-of-state property owners and the Tea Party as a test case. It is getting CRUSHED 80% against.
Measure 3 would have been one of those "Religious Freedom" measures that other states have passed. Even in conservative ND it is losing 63-36.
While North Dakota is not a bellwether state by any means, it is nice to see common sense rejecting two extreme right-wing measures.
