Do you find yourself returning to the same pattern over and over again? I do, for several reasons. I know the pattern well enough to be able to knit it when distracted, or it fills a need well, or I just plain old like it.
Follow me over the squiggly-doodle for some examples.
Baby sweaters are ooften made with a short deadline, so it is handy to know how long a pattern will take me to do. A few examples of favorites, most of which are from obscure patterns I don't remember the names of:
This green sweater is a mock cable pattern from Yankee Knitter:
A King Cole pattern I bought in Scotland (no name, just a number.....excellent little girl sweater ~~ feminine without being frilly, enough sweater to stay on, but no fussy buttons):
I do knit things other than baby sweaters, although it often seems otherwise ;-)
A favorite shawl pattern, Aestlight from the Shetland Trader (Gudrun Johnston, a native of Shetland). It's easy, so I've made it in several sizes, with different yarns, and the various versions really don't look like they were made from the same pattern:
For hats, the watch cap from Knits Men Wantis great ~~ for men or women ;-) Here's Commonmass wearing one I made for him:
When I want something a little fancier and more feminine, there's Meret(it's even a free pattern!):
Whether it's knitting, crocheting, sewing, or something else, what are your favorite patterns?
