Oh yes, Michigan Republicans, THIS is gonna help repair your image with female voters:
I'm not gonna bother with a transcript; suffice it to say that a Michigan radio talk show host was interviewing a male Republican state representative, Wayne Schmidt, about the Lisa Brown/Abortion/Vagina brouhaha, and the rep claimed that it wasn't "vagina" that got her banned, but the "no means no" comment, which he claimed went "a step too far" and that banning her from speaking was "like giving a kid a timeout," after which he laughed.
Hmmm...."giving a kid a timeout." Got it.
This is on top of the GOP Speaker's spokesman, Ari Adler, referring to Brown's comments as a "temper tantrum".
Anyone noticing a pattern here?
Meanwhile, help Lisa Brown become the next Oakland County Clerk by donating to the Lisa Brown "V for Victory!" Fund:
Update: Yes, I know I shouldn't give two shits about what Meghan McCain's views are on, well, anything, but she did say something rather telling in her defense of Lisa Brown last night:
"I'm a proud pro-life woman," McCain said during on an appearance on MSNBC's "The Ed Show" on Tuesday. "But when you hear that the word 'vagina' isn't allowed to be said by a congresswoman while debating women's reproductive rights, you can't help but thinking we're regressing as a culture when it comes to women's issues."
We all appreciate your words of support, Meghan, but no,
WE aren't "regressing as a culture", THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is.
The rest of us are desperately trying to PROGRESS, and your party is dragging all of us back.
I applaud you for your efforts to drag the GOP into the 21st (or even 19th) century, but they don't want any of it. At a certain point it's time to let it go.
That is all.
