I've been wondering about Massachusetts lately. By reputation it is a liberal state yet the polls I see continue to have Brown and Warren in a tie. I have no interest in argueing with anybody, I am hoping that someone here from Mass. will help me understand the dynamics from the local level that are driving this. For example, here in Minnesota we had a Senate race between Republican Norm Coleman and Democrat Paul Wellstone. Wellstone is killed right before the election - not giving the Dems enough time to organize around a new candidate. Plus, some bad publicity around Wellstone's funeral and you get Senator Coleman. It's still hard to believe that on the heals of a great progressive we get slimey Coleman, but at least the next go around we get rid of him and get the great Al Franken. So, seriously can somebody from Mass help me understand how the bafoonish Brown coninues to be viable in Mass against such a strong Dem candidate? Thanks!
