The Waldo Canyon Fire near Colorado Springs, CO is the single worst wildfire in the state's history. Almost 400 homes have been destroyed, one person has been killed, and tens of thousands of acres have burned in a rapidly moving firestorm of epic proportions.

Many of the over 40,000 evacuees fleeing from the fire went to nearby Woodland Park, CO, including our own Nurse Kelley. She says that the situation in Woodland Park is nearing desperation.
The American Red Cross left the city and went to nearby Divide, leaving the evacuees high and dry.
Many of the businesses in Woodland Park are closed, leaving those left stranded there with very few options for food, fuel, and other necessities.
The major road in the area -- Route 24 -- is completely closed. 24 has Woodland Park's only Walmart on it, so the Walmart is closed, leaving its employees out of a job and the people in the area without a way to get the things they need.
Many people are quickly running out of food and money, and even more have no vehicular transportation to get where they need to go to survive.
The situation is getting desperate. The fire marshal says there's no reason law enforcement can't let people back to their homes for even an hour, but the Sheriff keeps saying "no."
What you need to do is pressure the local news stations to go to Woodland Park and interview the evacuees. The only way they're going to get help is if their plight is made as public as possible.
