This movie is about an "In-depth Documentary that Journeys Into the Life of Barack Obama."
Just look at the trailer:
Obama's America 2016 - Love Him Hate Him - You Dont' know him
and then be warned.
This is not much of a diary, just a hint to be prepared to react to this movie. It opens nationally in limited release on July 27, after a Houston premiere this week and invitation-only screenings in Los Angeles next week.
Well, all I am saying is that kossacks should be wary and well aware of the actual effects this movie will have on the audience and the elections. You liked "Schindler's List"? I didn't, but my mileage may vary. You will like this documentary? I most probably won't, but that's because my mileage definitely varies on this one.
So, I am full of "prejudices" already without knowing much yet about the movie. I just realized that the story of this movie has risen more interest in Europe than here so far. I wonder why.
Press Release
Promotion by the "Washington Times": Inside the Beltway: A film challenge
“Obama has a dream, a dream from his father — that the sins of colonialism be set right, and America be downsized. America has a dream, from our founding fathers — that together we must perfect liberty, and that America must grow so that liberty grows. Which dream will we carry into 2016?” And so asks a new film that is about to vex both Hollywood and the White House, not to mention Democrats, progressives and everyone who still has a stake in “hope and change.”
Here comes “2016: Obama’s America,” a well-funded, feature-length documentary from Gerald Molen, veteran producer of such blockbusters as “Schindler’s List” and “Jurassic Park,” based on Dinesh D'Souza’s best-selling 2011 book, “The Roots of Obama’s Rage.” The film, which will be screened in Houston and Los Angeles in the next two weeks, opens nationwide July 27. It has almost come out of nowhere to articulate the state of a nation that wonders about the realities of President Obama’s eloquent promises in a previous political age.
It is unsettling stuff, and this is a film to be reckoned with, perhaps. Mr. D'Souza, a policy analyst in the Reagan White House and a high-profile conservative thinker, has plumbed the past, ultimately talking with George Obama, half-brother to the president and a resident of Kenya, who also appears in the film.
And the International Business Times writes:
"Anti-Obama Doc Likens Barack Obama’s Half-Brother To ‘Slumdog Millionaire’
"If you are his brother, has he been your keeper?" the filmmaker asks.
"Go ask him," George replies, apparently irritated by D'Souza's intimation that the president has a responsibility for his welfare. "I think he has a family of his own. I'm a member of his family, but I'm over-age, so I help myself."
The 30-year-old George, handsome and affable on screen, is the youngest of seven children that Barack Obama Sr. had fathered with four wives. D'Souza referred to him as "the black sheep" of the Obama family. "He's particularly interesting," D'Souza said. "He lives in rubble on a few dollars a day while his powerful, multimillionaire brother doesn't lift a finger to help him."
And here is a video of D'Souza in an interview with George Obama:
