Just got back from a trip half way across our great nation. I stuffed my Sweetie, and two new pups (if I ever figure out a way to post a pic, I will - they are SO wonderful!) into the car and headed to OKC. Daughter needed a couple of helping hands for the week and I needed to see family!
All along the way there was road work. Now, as a rule, road work - slowing down - fighting with traffic - is a royal pain. Sure looked at it differently this time. There was WORK (JOBS) every so often! People were making money to put food on the table, buy some things for the kids, go out on a 'date night' if so inclined.
Don't know who was paying for all this wonderful stuff - but I rejoiced each and everytime I happened on this previous 'annoyance'. We need more of it!
The kids at work all shake their heads 'yes' at the usual tirades I go on with we need more medical care, people need foodstamps, people need jobs, etc. Then, they complain about the 'welfare queens'. I don't get it. We are an entitled people - some of us are just a little more 'entitled' than others.
The main point of this whole post is just to let you know that the giant is moving. I saw signs of movement. I saw work. Everywhere! Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, Mississippi. Makes you proud... Surely, we could, as so many have suggested, start with Public Works and go from there.
Just sayin....
