That is the opening line on First Thoughts and I am shocked that there is no mention of Democrats in that blurb. Given the link title is "It's not easy being a moderate."
So here are Republicans bemoaning how extreme their Conference has become on the Hill. Okay, they have stood by and allowed legislation to be passed, have voted for stupid bill after stupid bill, and haven't smacked down idiots in their own party. So why are they crying about this now?
There is a blurb further down on how damaged the GOP brand is. These "moderates" contributed to that mess. They walked lock step with George Bush on most occasions. NOW, they see how bad things are when they are leaving Congress. Way to have a spine folks!
You helped make the mess by not bucking the "leadership" and being leaders. You don't get points for saying this at this late hour.
