I started this series because the Romney campaign begs to be mocked. And it is a mixture of data and mockage. However with the news that the wingnut base is pushing for Paul Ryan I have to laugh.
The 2008 exit polls for Florida. McCain took the over 65 group by 8 points. 17.6% of Floridians are over the age of 65.
Pennsylvania is at 15.4% McCain took the over 65: 50 to 49
Iowa is at 14.9% Obama won over 65
Ohio is at 14.1% McCain took the over 65: 55 to 44
Missouri is at 14% McCain took the over 65: 56 to 43
Those are five possible swing states with an over 65 population above the national average of 13.0% (States by age.)
So the guy who wants to change Medicare into a voucher program and means test it is the guy the base wants for VP? Look at the states above and the 2008 exit results with the 2010 Census demographics for the group that uses Medicare.
What the hell are they thinking?
Paul Ryan has not released his taxes so that helps Mitt a bit, except for the no taxes in another news cycle thing.
The Romney Campaign misjudged how much the tax issue would hound them. Whatever is in those taxes must be brutal. So they will pick a guy for VP that will scare seniors and helps the base. Which he needs after the Romneycare flap his spokesperson caused yesterday.
Who is running that campaign?
