Provided the Rmoney/Ayn Rand ticket goes down in flames this November, which seems more and more likely as the two of them waste more and more time trying to shift the focus from Mittens’ tax returns and Ryan’s plan to destroy Medicare and his avowal that yes, at the very moment he was publicly attacking the stimulus his lips were feeling forward in the dark (in four separate instances) for that sweet, gubmint-money teat, we on the left must do everything we can to make sure that the GOP continues its time-dishonored tradition of nominating the guy who came in second during the previous primary cycle. That would mean Rick Santorum’s turn at the top of the GOP ticket would be in 2016.
Right after the election this fall, all available bodies, posing as Low Information Voters, should start swamping red-state websites with the complaints that Mittens lost because he wasn’t conservative enough. The GOOPers are probably going to feel that way anyway, and what’s the harm in a little positive reinforcement? Keep driving that mantra home—the GOP needs to align more closely with the Tea Party in order to win the White House. Who’s more blindly right-wacko than Santorum?
Oh Lord, I know the left is not one of Your favored constituencies, but if You just do this one little thing for us this one time…
Next step is to get Michelle Bachmann as his vice-presidential pick. Of course, if she doesn’t make it onto the 2016 ticket, she’ll be ripe and ready for the top of the 2020 ticket.
Oh Dear Lord, You’re making me dizzy…
