Ron Paul, the libertarian that ran during the Republican primary was offered a speaking engagement at the Republican Convention. He declined because the Republican Convention wanted two things from him. 1. That his remarks be vetted by the Romney Campaign first and 2. That he would have to fully endorse Romney for President. His reply to the Republican establishment after the cheesecurd.
The New York Times today has a great piece on Ron Paul and his minions gathering in Florida for the convention. Although I am not a Ron Paul guy - I do agree with some of his thinking, mostly the anti-war stuff he espouses. What I thought was interesting was his response to the Convention about speaking there:
“It wouldn’t be my speech,” Mr. Paul said. “That would undo everything I’ve done in the last 30 years. I don’t fully endorse him for president.”
I don't fully endorse him for president... Another shocker after former Governor Christie of Florida.
