I picked this up in today's Kitsap Sun: Man asking for cigarettes arrested for harassment. The gist of it is that a (probably intoxicated) man was bumming cigarettes and then threatening people who didn't offer him any smokes. He got belligerent enough to take his shirt off and prepare to fight--wait for it--a concealed carry permit holder who was armed. Pistol came out, belligerent guy backed off with no shots fired, but promised to return with his own weapon. Cops are called. Belligerent guy returns with foil-wrapped crackers brandished as a faux weapon, cops draw their own guns, belligerent guy ends up safely in custody entirely free of gunshot wounds.
The final score appears to be one effective, non-lethal DGU, one sensible decision to call the cops in lieu of firing a defensive shot, two police keeping their cool in a tense situation, and one truly epic hangover.
The article doesn't say how the crackers fared in their debut as a weapon.
