Here's a new game I made up this afternoon. It's for those of you who remember Richard Nixon and his career. You get a point every time you write a statement that's true of Nixon that's also true of Romney. The prize: getting a glimpse of the kind of White House we'll get if Obama loses.
He doesn't want people looking at his personal tax filings.
He's entering the White House with a siege mentality toward the press. (Recall Ann Romney's "you people" remark, compare Nixon's "you won't have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore" remark.)
Hard core conservatives don't trust him because they think he's a sell-out; too liberal.
(CONTINUED)
He's running as a conservative, but he backs big government and intervention when he thinks it's to his political advantage. (Recall Nixon's remark: "We are all Keynesians, now.")
His vice presidential nominee is a goddam liar.
He's the candidate of big business, and screw the working families if they don't like it.
Romney, 2012: "Secret plan for the US economy" Nixon, 1968: "Secret plan to end the war in Southeast Asia."
See if you can come up with any more.
