Let's face it, Mitt Romney has been benefiting from good old fashioned sexism.
Yes, sexism!
Poor idiotic, half-term governor Sarah Palin from Alaska. (Thank you, Kaili Joy Gray.)
She was painted as an idiot and laughed off the stage from her very first, "In what respect, Charley?" And, "I can see Russia from my house?"
Thereafter, everybody spoke to her and of her knowing that she is an idiot.
With brilliant comedic timing the wonderful Tina Fey then sealed the deal.
"That woman, is an idiot," Keith Olbermann intoned.
So now we come to Mitt Romney.
What will it take for people to call him what he has proven to be?
An immoral, money-grubbing, narcissitic, self-promoting, vacillating weakling.
And yes, an idiot.
Which brave newsman/woman will be the first to call a male spade a spade?
Which brave comedian will be the first to recognize the absolute treasure trove of material they have just sitting there, waiting patiently to be explored and exploited?
Consider these gems:
"I believe in an America where millions of Americans believe in an America that's the America millions of Americans believe in. That's the America I love." –Mitt Romney (January 2012)
"I like those fancy raincoats you bought. Really sprung for the big bucks." —Mitt Romney to a group of NASCAR fans wearing plastic ponchos at the Daytona 500 (February 2012)
"I'm not familiar precisely with what I said, but I'll stand by what I said, whatever it was." —Mitt Romney (May 17, 2012)
''I saw my father march with Martin Luther King.''
"Corporations are people, my friend… of course they are. Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to the people. Where do you think it goes? Whose pockets? Whose pockets? People's pockets. Human beings, my friend."
"It's hard to know just how well [the 2012 London Olympics] will turn out. There are a few things that were disconcerting. The stories about the private security firm not having enough people, the supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials, that obviously is not something which is encouraging."
“I love being in Michigan. Everything seems right here. You know, I come back to Michigan; the trees are the right height. The grass is the right color for this time of year, kind of a brownish-greenish sort of thing. It just feels right.”
But this next one takes the cake. In answering a Bret Baier's question about his totally ignoring the troops during his convention speech, Romney said this:
I only regret you’re repeating it day in and day out. When you give a speech you don’t go through a laundry list, you talk about the things that you think are important and I described in my speech, my commitment to a strong military unlike the president’s decision to cut our military. And I didn’t use the word troops, I used the word military. I think they refer to the same thing.
Did you catch that? First he referred to the troops as "things" and then he lied saying that when he spoke about the military he was really talking about the troops.
Funny thing is, his lie makes his position even worse. His correcting lie betrays exactly where is heart really resides and that is with things and not warm-blooded human beings.
I am calling out the media.
They should either apologize to the idiotic half term governor from Alaska or, apply the same standard to the lying idiotic governor from Massachusetts.
What is it to be?
