Hahahahahahahahahahaha...!!!!! Oh, my goodness! The Asheville Citizen-Times boasts this headline today atop the front page:
Meadows: I'm not Romney
Way to run from the top of the ticket, slimeball. In the recently redistricted 11th way out west in the mountains of No' Cackalackie - previously represented by notorious (and thankfully retiring) pseudo-Dem Heath Shuler - the Republican candidate, Mark Meadows, is running AWAY from Mitt Romney.
"It might come as a surprise, but Mitt Romney didn't call me before he made those comments and ask my advice," Meadows said.
Here is a video link for the forum at WLOS-TV in Asheville.
Meanwhile, Meadows has officially endorsed Romney for POTUS, while the Democrat in the race for this open seat - Hayden Rogers - is playing all-out to the Shuler Blue Dog demographic and has NOT endorsed President Obama for a second term.
Meadows is trying to distance himself from the loser at the top of the Republican ticket, but his positions on the issues are virtually indistinguishable from Romney/Ryan's. As they say in these parts, that dog won't hunt.
The next debate is scheduled for October 19th, and will be hosted/broadcast by WWNC radio.
