As of this morning, the Iowa Secretary of State reports that 13,812 absentee ballots have been received. Now the actual website says, "data current as of 9/27/2012," but I think that's what it said yesterday. I believe that the SOS updated the numbers and perhaps forgot to change the date? I'm not quite sure. In any case, the numbers are still really good.
So far, 203,081 absentee ballots have been requested by Iowa voters. Here is the partisan breakdown:
Dem 127,541 (62.8%)
Rep 30,637 (15.09%)
Ind 44,728 (22.02%)
Oth 175 (Negligible)
And so far, 13,812 absentee ballots have been received. Again, here is the partisan breakdown:
Dem 8,852 (64.09%)
Rep 2,670 (19.33%)
Ind 2,274 (16.46%)
Oth 16 (Negligible)
I'm not quite sure if these received absentee ballots include in-person voting from yesterday, but I spoke to someone in the SOS office and they are going to get back to me on that (hopefully).
In any case, these are very strong numbers so far. They remind me of 2008, so let's keep our fingers crossed!

UPDATE: I just received a call from the SOS office and yes, indeed, the numbers that are posted online do include the in-person voting.
