Yesterday I was hanging out here reveling in the misery that is Mitt Romney’s campaign. I especially enjoyed seeing Bill Maher’s segments since I don't have cable any more. His comparing the crassness of Romney to Rappers and the piece in New Rules calling him “The False Profit” and naming what Bain does “Feral Capitalism” are priceless. In the comments, I ran across a Freudian misspelling of Romney in the comments as Rmoney. It fits so well, it’s like it was meant to be. I did a little searching later on, and must give credit to this diary for originally coining the moniker. Since it was pouring rain outside, I justified spending some time playing around with Mittens’ logo. Follow me over the jump for the result.
I know Mittens believes in promoting his brand, and I feel obliged to help. I got to experience first-hand the method’s of Bain Capital back in the early 90’s. A well established company where I worked was experiencing some regulatory struggles. Bain bought the under-valued company for pennies-on-the-dollar when the regulatory nightmare was nearly over (admittedly a wise business move). What they did next was slash costs (i.e., lay people off) in an effort to make the bottom line as rosy as possible and shortly after issue an IPO. In about a year and a half, these bastards quadrupled their money and instead of investing and creating lasting value they slashed and ran. An example of Bill Maher’s Feral Capitalism, no doubt. For me and many other long time employees, it was an in-your-face example of how rich bastards get filthy rich.
I hope the rethugs continue to bloody each other to the point that whoever is left standing (it will likely be Rmoney) has so much dirt on them from fellow rethugs that there isn’t much left for us to do but replay what is already out there. To that end, I hope my small effort with Mittens brand throws a little more on the fire.
