Feces-flinging apes. That's what you'd think our body politic consists of, if you've been following the republican primaries even casually. It's been like being poked in the eye repeatedly with a sharp stick right after someone set that stick on fire.
Want a break from that? Good, because here's your ticket, at least if you're in New York City or its environs: a very special meetup to watch the President's State of the Union Address to Congress, comfortably ensconced with your fellow Kossacks, a beverage in hand and a snack within reach.
Maybe I'm biased, but it doesn't get better than that. But wait, there's more!
Ta-da!
We'll be joined by longtime Kossack spedwybabs of Progressive Congress, a fierce warrior for everything that is good and right in this world, not to mention a total hoot. She's one of those rare people who prove that politics can be fun.
So you really have no excuse not to come. End of discussion. And now, the details, courtesy of the estimable sidnora and casperr:
Forum has kindly offered their space to casperr for a State of the Union watch party, and we're invited!
It's a huge space with plenty of comfortable seating, state-of-the-art audio and video system, and reasonably priced bar and dinner menus. Huge flat-screen TVs that usually show sporting events will be showing the SOTU for an audience of Democratic activists from around the city.
