I'm serious. I will flip. I will start jabbering. I will smash things. I will fail to take my vitamins.
Cartoonist Ruben Bolling, the creator of the unbelievably wonderful "Tom the Dancing Bug" cartoon -- which has been one of the mainstays of alternative comics since I myself was knee-high to a dancing bug (and I would rather not discuss how I ended up in that awkward position) -- published a diary yesterday evening at 6:00 Pacific with a new cartoon. It was NOT republished under the "Comics" section.
Is he testing the waters of Daily Kos? I don't know. All I know is that he got only 29 recs and 7 comments, as I write, and that that is nowhere near enough. If Andy Samberg showed up here and said "hey, I made a short film, mind if I show it to you guys?", I think it would do better.
Well, if we don't give Ruben Bolling the attention he deserves, I am going to freak out. I will eat my bookcase. I will burn my sweater vests. I will throw acorns at squirrels. I don't know what lengths I might go to! I want to see his cartoons here. Don't blow it! Click, read, and celebrate! Ruben Bolling is here at last!
1:39 PM PT: Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Twenty minutes after I posted this, it is #5 on the Rec List with 56 Recs and a bullet. I'm glad so many people are enjoying Bolling's work and I look forward to enjoying it here often, I hope!
P.S. Remember to follow him!
