The drop of unemployment below 8% could well deflate any nascent Romney bubble/bounce and soldify those who support the President's re-election in the battleground states. He may not have won the debate, but people feel that things are getting better. Former President Bill Clinton told the nation last month two key things.
First, no president, not him or his predecessors, could have fixed the bad economy Bush left in four years.
Second, President Obama has laid the foundation for economic growth and middle class prosperity. If you renew the President's contract, YOU WILL FEELL IT!
President Obama started with a much weaker economy than I did. Listen to me, now. No president — no president, not me, not any of my predecessors, no one could have fully repaired all the damage that he found in just four years. (Cheers, applause.)
You will feel it:
Now — but — (cheers, applause) — he has — he has laid the foundation for a new, modern, successful economy of shared prosperity. And if you will renew the president’s contract, you will feel it. You will feel it. (Cheers, applause.)
You will feel it! People know things are getting better. We have weathered the worst of the storm under the leadership of President Barack Obama. Sunnier skies are here. No time to change the captain of the ship of state now.
The debate made Republicans happy in their fantasy world in which Barack Obama is lazy and not bright (they can't say shiftless n.. out loud anymore). But in the real world:
WE STILL ARE WINNING!
Can you feel it? Louder!! Fired Up and Ready to Go!!
Update I: From itskevin in the comments, some "can-you-feel-it" music!
