is the title of this new internet radio show. Or at least, a trial at a new internet radio show based in London.
That's London, England.
I was contacted by a started called BeeVocal. The man who established it, Vik Pratap, grew up in the US and attended college in New York City. He reached out to me because first he found me on twitter, then read some of what I post here.
Our first show will be this forthcoming Wednesday, October 17, at 7 PM EDT for one hour. Obviously the primary focus will be the Town Hall Presidential Debate the night before, but the conversation is open to other topics as well.
That's conversation, as in the audience participating as well, by computer.
For now that will only be via audio. Over the intertubes.
I hope you will be curious enough to sign on and see what happens, perhaps even to join the conversation.
Please continue below the fold for instructions of how you can get connected and join up.
Instructions for your audience (if you would like me to clarify any of the points below, please let me know):
teacherken will be hosting a live, online talk show to discuss his thoughts on US politics at 7pm EDT on 17-Oct. You can listen to the show, ask questions, or share your opinion in the live broadcast from anywhere that you have access to a computer connected to the Internet. To join in, please follow the instructions listed below:
- Step 1: At 7pm EDT on 17-Oct, go to http://www.beevocal.com/... and click the “Join Episode” button. (Before the scheduled show time, you will not see a button to “Join Episode”)
- Step 2: Click Join Episode 1 to listen to the live online broadcast
- Step 3: When you join the episode a new window will pop up on your screen and a dialogue box will ask you whether you want to allow Camera and Microphone Access. If you would like to speak with teacherken to ask questions or share your opinion in the live show, please click “Allow.” Please note that clicking “Allow” does not share your video because there is no video in the show.
- Step 4: If at any point in the show you would like to ask a question, please click the little hand icon in the bottom right of the “Users” window on your screen. This will signal to the hosts that you would like to participate, and they will be able to un-mute your microphone to bring you into the conversation.
You can listen to the live broadcast from anywhere that you are connected to a computer with Internet access. (Unfortunately, tablets and smartphones are not yet supported.) The quality of the sound will be affected by the speed of your Internet connection. If you would like to speak in the live show, please ensure that the microphone on your computer is turned on and working before you join the episode. Switching on the microphone or adjusting microphone setting after you have joined the show may not work.
