The President was good tonight. I liked his performance better than the last. I never had the negative feelings about the last so many here did. I have been called an "Obama hater" many times because I speak my mind. The name callers are his worst enemies as are those who joined the media hypes and others who put him down after the last debate. I disagree with him on so many things. I also believe he should be president. Our system is very imperfect. But it is our system. His campaign of hope was thwarted by the system after his election. In many significant ways his ability to overcome the terrible power of that system makes him a greater man than the images we had in 2008. Read on below and I will explain what I mean
Reality is a very hard thing to grasp. The immense power of our system has thwarted people on "our side" very well. This man seems different to me. He saw the beast and he confronted it. He has not made excuses. He has worked hard and fougjht hard in his own calm steady way. He has not yielded to the temptation to engage his opponents in the ugly game they set as a trap for him. He just forged on.
Tonight he proved something far deeper than most of us are able to comprehend at the moment. That may sound strange to you but it will take time for it to unfold. It took the moderator to call Romney on the lie about the event in Libya. That was a fatal error for Romney yet Obama never delivered the death blow. This is an extraordinary man. I hope we all will learn from his approach. He begins to conger up images of MLK and Gandhi.
