The foreign policy debate is tonight which reminded me of this fact:Mitt Romney protested in favor of the Vietnam War draft, but then when his number was called got himself a deferment to France.
That in a statement hits at the core of Romney with regard to always playing by his own set of rules, his supposed sense of patriotism, and disconnect from the people who aren't so privileged to have an easy out. Not only did he support the Vietnam War, he supported the draft. The audacity to take such a stance and then absolve himself of all responsibility when he was called upon speaks to character. Character that is unbecoming of a man vying to be commander-in-chief. This should be a bigger story.
