There is no better reason for government to not involve itself in decisions women make about their own bodies, health, and psyche than this horrible and sickening and hypocritical and blasphemous discussion the entire Republican Party is having about rape and abortion. I can't help but say that any man who says God creates children through rape is blaspheming God. Then they - in particular - Paul Ryan discuss it in such clinical terms and manners. It is as if these Republican men care not at all about women whether in the context of rape or generally. How could any one of us vote for a presidential candidate who refuses to distance himself from Senate candidates who are so sanguine about what is often the most horrible thing that can happen to a woman. If candidates will talk like these Republicans about rape during a campaign, how will they govern?
Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and Republicans in general, rape is not sex and has nothing to do with love. Rape is violence. Rape is an expression of hatred. Rape is an instrument of war.
The Republican Party has lost its ever-loving mind. The Republican Party has been taken over by hatred, cheating, racism, misogyny, and the same forces who've tried throughout American history to suppress and oppress and enslave and disempower and disenfranchise Americans. They've lost any and all privilege of governing.
All of us should be enraged by this pathetic batch of Republicans.
