OK, so we have a debate in the books. I'm not going to rehash what has been rehashed hundreds of times already this morning, so let me just get to the point: There are low-information voters out there who are either a) too busy, b) too dumb, or c) too easily swayed by propaganda that we MUST reach in order to keep our lead. This voting bloc is heavily Republican, thanks to years of propaganda funded by billions of dollars spent by Republican groups.
Some of these voters, however, are "lean" supporters of Obama or Romney, or considering not voting, or considering a Gary Johnson vote, undecided, etc. We CAN do something to reach these people! Lets bring the "fact check" to them and get some of these voters in our camp.
One thing we could do that would be cheap would be to print off a fact check of last night's debate. Something like "the Top 10 lies from Oct. 3rd's Presidential Debate." Heck, the NPR article could be printed off verbatim and be an effective tool. Whatever you do, DO NOT put any pro-Obama or OFA material on the page. Make the handout look as non-partisan as possible. I don't like being deceitful, but I do want people who are leaning Romney to start to read these instead of throwing them out if they have the O logo on them.
We can keep a few of these handy and distribute them while canvassing. A lot of people don't have time to get talking points to argue against their right-wing relatives, so having a talking-points sheet like this ready-to-go will be a help, and for the lean Obama crowd might help them switch to Strong Obama. If we are going door-to-door we can drop these off at the doorsteps of those homes that are not on our lists (but check the local laws before putting these in mailboxes.)
If there is some support for this idea, I can get a PDF ready or convert someone's Word document into a print-ready PDF file. If you are going to do this I would suggest designing it in gray scale, so that it can be printed and copied cheaply.
