With the President busy with New Jersey and New York since Monday, and back on the campaign trail today in Wisconsin, Colorado, and Nevada, he declined to respond to Donald Trump's final $5 million offer. Trump had originally set the deadline for Obama to submit his passport and academic records to be 5pm yesterday, but extended it until today at noon (EST) in consideration of President Obama's duties related to Hurricane Sandy.
It has only been a few hours since the deadline passed, but Trump is already taking to the airwaves, haranguing Obama.
Donald Trump blasted President Obama for not taking up his offer to release his college records, saying the president’s failure to do so was hard evidence he wasn’t born in the U.S.
If anybody thought that Trump was going to extend the deadline again, that is clearly not going to happen.
“Obviously he wasn’t born in this country, or, if he was, he said he wasn’t in order to receive financial aid and in order to have a clear and very easy path into a college or university. Only a very stupid person would believe otherwise.
Trump has convinced himself that because Obama did not provide to him his school and passport records, that he has proven himself to be not only a foreigner but also an academic pretender. I don't know how someone graduates
magna cum laude from Harvard Law School unless he or she is a pretty good student, but Donald Trump certainly has another opinion on that.
Amazingly, as was diaried earlier, the Romney/Ryan campaign has announced that it is featuring Donald Trump on a series of robocalls in several swing states. As an American, I am embarrassed in front of the people of the world, who must think our political system is a complete joke. There's one quote from Trump that I fully agree with:
This is very, very sad day for the United States of America.
