God knows the Republicans won't admit it but:
Commentators rightly jumped on meme how Hispanics and racial minorities delivered vote to Obama. However few go further. It's not simply Hispanics don't like white people (despite Fox's wet dream). Rather they despise policies championed by right-wing republicans (especially those targeting undocumented workers).
Tea Party superstars failed miserably: Ryan, McMahon, Walsh, Akin, etc.
Tea Party primary candidates forced Romney too far to the right ala Meg Whitman.
As much fun as it is to watch Republicans implode, it's dangerous to leave these Tea Party clowns with any kind of power.
Further look at how the Republicans under Reagan wiped out liberals (even the name).
Even if people liked liberal politics nobody wanted to be associated with the name. Why? They were wimpy, elitist losers. Too many had some elitist tendencies. We need to do the same with Tea Party. How? By labeling them as wimpy, hypocritical losers. Hypocrisy knows no boundaries with these folks.
Does it strengthen the Republican party? Yes. But we will end up with some type of opposition and I prefer a less dangerously crazy one.
In the past we had standards in this country demanding in hard times opponents came together to work through those hard times. The far right clique (starting with Gingrich to Bush/Cheney to Tea Party) scorns this approach. Bottom line: we can't afford them especially when we face climate control and worldwide recession.
