We've seen a few diaries today talking about the surprise from the right, from supporters to pundits to the billionaires that funded the Romney campaign, about how how badly Romney did.
Some of the pundits claim they (and the GOP) misunderstood the electorate (Gingrich, et al), some, like Glenn Beck, claimed that god had forsaken them, others attacked Republicans for not voting for Republicans, and others still blamed Romney for pushing a false narrative, that he actually had a chance.
That last group, the folks that are upset with Romney, are the most unique of the lot.
They are a group of people, mostly people that backed Romney financially, that seem to feel that Romney lied to them, to keep the money flowing in.
And guess what, he did.
His team, as we saw a few days back, pushed fake poll numbers to the British media, and relied extensively on the worst outlier polls.
But the REAL interesting thing is this:
These people all knew that Romney lied, repeatedly, they all continued to embrace his mendacity, financially.
What they so stupidly missed was that, Romney, the biggest liar that's run for office on national ticket in decades, was ALSO LYING TO THEM.
That's right.
Romney treated them like he treated everyone else.
And they are SHOCKED AND OUTRAGED.
"Hey, it's one thing to lie to the American public, that's cool, but lying to your moneymen, that's just OUTRAGEOUS".
Hang out with a liar, and you're gonna get lied to.
Hilarious.
Shame the mainstream media won't put the pieces together, but still... for those paying attention, it's a wonderful little irony.
ONE FINAL THOUGHT
His billionaire backers shouldn't be surprised for another even more profound reason:
If Romney was so amoral as to take your money, Mr Koch, why do you think he'd be honest with you? In other words, you KNOW, Mr Koch, that you're full of shit, why do you think a candidate willing to do your bidding would be honest?
Kinda the ultimate in bad decisions, trusting someone that'd get in bed with you.
