HIGH Fives all around to Colorado and Washington voters for stepping up and making history by legalizing Marijuana!
While Oregon's measure 80 was voted down in a tight race, Amendment 64 in Colorado and I-502 in Washington both won with solid majorities! Along with Massachusetts becoming the 18th state to legalize medical Cannabis the writing is on the wall.
The only question now remains how these laws will square up against federal law which continue to maintain Marijuana's Schedule I controlled substance status. Tough talk is already coming from the DEA. How they will respond is the billion dollar question [literally].
A quick background. in March of 2009 Eric Holder, the US' top cop, announced that the Justice Department would only target medical-marijuana providers "who violate both federal and state law" only to be followed by stepping up raids on medical Cannabis dispensaries across California. Tough talk ensued in 2010 on the eave of California's historic vote on Proposition 19 saying the Feds will "vigorously enforce" Federal Marijuana laws.
So far Eric Holder and the DOJ have been silent on the recent election. Could it mean a change of heart? This is the perfect opportunity to let the will of the voters stand and try a new social experiment in ending Pot Prohibition in America. I hope the current administration has the cajones to let this one roll.
If you want to tell the DOJ how you feel about this issue and how they should respect the will of US voters contact them here:

And Congratulations!!!
