Attorney General Eric Holder was speaking to law students at Baltimore University and in what was an apparent off the cuff remark mentioned the possibility he may not be back for a second term.
Attorney General Eric Holder said Thursday that he could exit the Obama administration despite the president securing a second term.
Holder made the apparently off-the-cuff remarks during a speech to law students at the University of Baltimore School of Law on Thursday, according to Reuters.
According to the report, the attorney general said he still needed to consult with the president and his family before making a decision on a second term. And, Holder said, he needed to ask himself, "Do I have some gas left in the tank?"
Prepared remarks by the Justice Department did not include discussion of whether Holder would continue on as Attorney General.
Eric Holder has been under fire by Republicans in the House for his role in Fast and Furious, the 'gun walking scandal'. But after much bellowing by them the issue was dropped by them and the media.
While there may be legitimate criticism of Holder I would hate to see him lose his job because of this witch hunt as this would give Darryl Issa an unearned feather in his cap.
