In the last few days of a state Senate race in Connecticut's 4th Senate District, an ominous SuperPAC, sponsored by a shady Fairfield County Billionaire, Thomas Peterffy, is busy dumping tens of thousands of dollars for attack ads benefitting the challenger, Republican Cheri Pelletier.
Peterffy's interest in this race is confusing given his views of the Democratic incumbent:
"I looked him up, and he looks like a nice guy."
So how can progressives fight back to protect a General Assembly responsible for the
repeal of the Death Penalty and
passage of Medical Marijuana? Just let a Billionaire use his wealth to taking control with bought and paid for far right candidates?
Hell No! Wait for a candidate to make a stupid mistake then use the power of the internet of course! Check it out!
Predictably, Pelletier started catching heat on various media outlets for the largesse from a member of the Forbes 400. An apparent newcomer to a basic rule of damage control (transparency, natch), Pelletier then began feverishly deleting any criticism, she found of herself and her campaign from the internet and BOOM the following website was born!
HMMM. A Connecticut candidate scouring the internet removing objectionable content? Haven't we heard this story before?
Of course! GOP Senate Candidate Linda McMahon!
This new site is replete with video just like this one critical of Pelletier's actions and making the comparison to the WWE Porno-Profiteer McMahon:
Will this be enough to defeat Connecticut's own Citizen's United Bonus Baby backed by Fairfield County Billionaire?
Hardly. Like all races, it's going to be ground game that makes the difference.
And what's in store for Cheri "The Censor" Pelletier? Win or lose, our recommendation for Pelletier includes a subscription to our friends over at Mr. Media Training for help with dealing with the media before she feels the need to "Delete When She Feels the Heat!"
