I just got back from eating at a restaurant from a well-known chain of Chinese/Asian buffet places. Their advertising claims they use "No MSG". My tongue, and an incipient MSG flush, both say otherwise. Fortunately I'm not seriously allergic to the stuff - i just know when I've been fed it. (NB: several public reviews have also said these places use MSG - and lots of it.)
Once upon a time, when a place made certain claims in its advertising, you could be reasonably certain they were true. Now...?
If they can lie about stuff like this with impunity, what else are they lying to us about? And how will we ever find out unless something goes terribly, horribly wrong and people start dying in LARGE numbers?
