I spoke to my sister earlier today, the straight one who supports Obama in Ohio, not the gay one living in Pennsylvania who sports Romney. Both are ready for the election to be over.
Anyway, Dana in Ohio is livid and willing to speak her mind. More below the muddied Monongahela River.
Dana lives in Avon with her Republican husband. She knows the benefit of the Affordable Care Act as she survived her heart attack with the help of insurance and knows that with a preexisting condition, she needs ACA. She also has a granddaughter who will max out any insurance cap by her late teens should ACA be repealed.
I called her last Monday when my daughter told me she had lost power on Roosevelt Island in New York City. Dana told me that two of her children had also just lost power in nearby Cleveland suburbs. Eventually, the third also lost power. Her son's town is still 75% in the dark.
Then, on Wednesday while family was still recovering, Romney hears Avon calling. He stages his photo op in Avon Lakes, gathering pretend supplies for Hurricane Sandy survivors.
Dana is livid that Romney introduced politics into a national disaster. While in town, Romney ignored the local power outages.
Ohio sees through Romney's lipstick. Ohio sees the pig.
On the other hand, PBO is acting Presidential and demonstrating genuine compassion. Chris Christie sees the difference http://m.washingtonpost.com/.... Michael Bloomberg sees the difference http://mobile.nytimes.com/... . Ohioans see the difference. GOTV and FB and tweet and LinkObamain.
