Welcome, fellow grievers.
Tonight's scheduled diarist has an emergency and needs to reschedule to a later date. That's just as well, as I have something to say (again)...
Last week, I tendered my resignation as coordinator/administrator of this series, which I started 5 and a half years ago. I will be seeing things through to the end of this year.
Today, I am have some happier news to report. Please follow me past the series blurb and the Kos-croissant...
A special welcome to anyone who is new toThe Grieving Room. We meet every Monday evening. Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, whether you have lost a person or a pet, or even if the person you are "mourning" is still alive ("pre-grief" can be a very lonely and confusing time) you can come to this diary and process your grieving in whatever way works for you. Share whatever you need to share. We can't solve each other's problems, but we can be a sounding board and a place of connection.
Today, I joyfully received, and accepted, an offer from TrueBlueMajority to become the new series coordinator/administrator, starting January 1st.
TBM (as I like to call her) is one of the originators of this series, and a long-time dKos member (she has been here for three presidential elections, and has a 4-digit UID). I want to respect her privacy, so I will just say that her education, vocation, and life experience make her uniquely qualified to do this job. She also has the time and the willingness to make it a higher priority than I have been able to do of late.
I am indebted to her for offering, and I accept her offer with gratitude.
All that said, I have a few more hosting slots to fill. Help a friend out, will you? All I ask is that if you volunteer, you A) put it in your calendar, and B) check your Kosmail for instructions and reminders, especially the day before your hosting date. Other than that, it's really not difficult. Most hosts find it to be a cathartic experience for them.
