My Solar Mosaic colleague Erica Etelson and I compiled this list of Mitt Romney's greatest hits that reveal a deep hostility toward and lack of understanding of clean energy. Obama isn't perfect either -- his "all of the above" policy includes nuclear energy and "clean" coal. But it's safe to say you will never hear Obama utter any of the following statements:
"You can't drive a car with a windmill on it.”
--Campaigning in Ohio, 3/6/12
“I’ll fight for oil, coal and natural gas.”
--Second debate, 10/16/12
"I exhale carbon dioxide. I don't want those guys (EPA) following me around with a meter to see if I'm breathing too hard."
--Campaigning in New Hampshire, 11/18/11
"We don't know what's causing climate change on this planet."
--Speaking in Pittsburgh, 10/27/11
“You [Obama] put $90 billion into — into green jobs...
And these businesses...I think about half of them, of the ones have been invested in have gone out of business.”
(Author's Note: False)
--First debate, 10/3/12
“By the way, I like coal.”
(Author's Note: True)
